Befriending Service

Henna’s dedicated volunteers provide a weekly telephone befriending service to our vulnerable Asian women who are isolated and housebound in their homes. This service is provided in several South Asian languages as well as English.

The Befriending service provides individuals with the additional support to reduce loneliness where it is needed. Our volunteers contact beneficiaries on a weekly basis to check how they are and over time establish rapport and trust.

These phone calls are a crucial link into the wider Henna offering. Befriending Service users are encouraged and supported to improve their networks, by providing them with information on activities and groups in their locality.
