Derek is a long standing local resident and vice-chair of Castlehaven Community Association – an organisation active in providing services and activities for communities in Camden. Through this he brings a wider awareness of issues and, whilst highlighting issues that affect Asian women, he also reminds us with perspectives and insights of the wider community as well.
Rukhsana Quraishi
Member Trustee
Rukhsana has been a committed member of Henna Asian Women’s Group since 2011 and now serves as a Member Trustee. She is responsible for leading 2-way communications between the Board and members, shaping activities to meet the needs of members, and leading on impact. Prior to her retirement, she worked in the financial sector, bringing valuable professional experience and ability to engage and support women from diverse backgrounds to her Trustee role.
Darshan Vora
Trustee
Darshan is a local business owner specialising in the care, at home, of older people and adults with disabilities – a field for which he has enormous passion and commitment. Darshan also brings business and corporate experience including financial planning and budgeting. An Economics degree graduate from Nottingham University, he aids our thinking and guides future planning.
Hetal Patel
Trustee
Hetal is a successful business owner and pharmacist, with multiple thriving independent pharmacies across North London. She has demonstrated strong leadership and a commitment to both excellent patient care and commercial success.. Her expertise in combining clinical practice with sound business strategy is complemented by her experience mentoring aspiring pharmacists and entrepreneurs. Hetal’s brings her broad experience in business and healthcare to guide Henna’s programmes.
Hamida Obaroy
Member Ambassador
Hamida has been with Henna Asian Women’s Group since 2017 and now serves in the newly created role of Member Ambassador which is closely aligned to the Board and critical to increasing our fundraising focus. Responsible for engaging with the community, she is a dedicated advocate who takes initiative in building strong connections with local businesses and leading fundraising efforts. Prior to her retirement, Hamida brought with her over 30 years of experience in the financial sector, a background that continues to inform her strategic approach, professionalism, and leadership within the organisation.
